isabel's tree

sunlight, oxygen, earth
years ago a seed dropped
the rings ripple outward
a splash of timber
a reflected tower of life
sweeping radial curves
 and new seeds

for isabel

I love your connection between the rings of the tree and the ripples - beautiful.

And thank you for planting a seedling in my somewhat barren landscape.

I like 'the rings ripple outward' - a reflection of the way to tell a tree's age.

Lucy, in my edit I mentioned oxygen and rings, also "trees lumber above my head." GMTA

jabblog yes i felt like a tree is like a slow splash in water, its rings spreading.
