a found coastal landscape
wind works surreal arias, dreams, fugues,
familiar riffs twisted through ti tree, out of tune,
carefully sharp visuals glide unexpected
across a contrary void.
signs raise a hand free, steel faces caught darkening,
drawn to serve a quiet campaign, small smiles jacked up at the corners.
an empty pearl chamber feels grey, a drift of them,
a quarry of skeletal expressions, defences, accommodations
waiting for tenants or to join the surrounding diaspora
rings of shell, like wood,
shone bright, with taste and tenderness
convex curves and fine wrinkles,
a coppery gleam of salty dialogue
round velvet weeds inhale ocean,
softly spoken bubbles of danger
ivory, agape, a fish face remembers
currents and pulses, birds attending
on limbo breezes, held in place
unflapped and watchful.
blood ran proud on thirsty dunes.
easy wine branches, like a magnolia
rusting into the moss,
withdrawn masked petals reconsider and
shift their weight
against salty leaves a silk caesura
a soft consumption, retreat, compression
a life pressed against prior knowledge
and precedent, reflective.
reforming. a busy intermission
individually wrapped revolution
a crowded occupation,
becoming.
